Non-slip mats are the primary factor in all load securing calculations for any type of cargo. Reliable kinetic friction coefficients significantly reduce the need for other securing equipment. This is what typically makes economical load securing possible.  

An unsecured load is a life-threatening cargo. Even goods weighing a few tons can suddenly become deadly projectiles due to the truck driver's emergency braking or evasive action. Non-slip mats are one of the most effective ways to minimize this risk.

For example, when securing a load to non-slip mats, only four lashing straps are required. However, without the mats, more straps are needed, which is not very practical. Therefore, non-slip mats form the basis of load securing; without them, most other securing methods would be too expensive and time-consuming to be reasonable.
